I told her how delighted I was to interview her. As I prepped to ask my first question I glared at Romeu for a slight second. “What are some experiences that lead you to be the person you are today?” I questioned politely, with a quick thought, Soraya Romeu answered the question with a dainty smile, “going to school and of course spending time with family, but one thing that has affected my life had been finding my true love, which lead to me not finishing college and becoming a citizen of the United States” Soraya Romeu responded gladly. As I was looking at my questions Soraya Romeu showed me a former image of Romeu’s parents and her, she explained how her parents along with her siblings assisted in her coming- of- age experiences especially when she came to Florida to live. “Did you have anyone to look up to? If so, explain, recalling her memories, Romeu answered with a bit of disappointment. “I regret not finishing college, all I had to do was finish a test, and my life would have changed drastically if I did, but I am satisfied with the life today, two healthy, beautiful daughters, including you, my family, a roof over my head, food on the table and my husband” Romeu informed, “How would your life have changed if you did go to college?” I asked, “Well I wouldn’t live in the United States, I would have a more exceeding job, I wouldn’t have met my husband and my daughter’s would live in the United States, college would have played an important role that would have impacted how I live today although I tell you every day to focus on school for their future” Romeu explained thoughtfully. With a slight thought, I turn the page like a flash and observe the last photo of the album and acknowledged, “Where do you see yourself in the future?” “I see myself still working and my two daughters visiting me in my house for holidays, weekends and random times” Romeu admitted “do you think would you still be as connected with your family?” I exclaimed “of course the connection between my family and I would never fade no matter what” Romeu smirked in delight. Closing the album Romeu stated how in her high school years she would participate in school events, be with her friends and of course receiving appropriate grades she would also travel
