I think I am a strong candidate for this program because I have always been involved in several activities in order to expand my personal growth and knowledge. Here at Penn State, I am a member of the Anthropology Club and treasurer of the Sophomore Year Experience Special Living Option. Sophomore Year Experience is in the process of being developed into an officially recognized organization here at the main campus. My fellow executive board members and committee members are developing activities, classes, and programs to involve sophomores in finding more information about majors, internships, and future career plans. These organizations have given me the opportunity to develop leadership roles and communication skills as these are necessary

I think of myself a good candidate to partake in this program as I’m in all honors classes for my school plus my four magnet classes, and my one Ap class of World history. With all these classes I’ve accomplished staying in my school top grade of Principal List for 90 above all classes per marking period. While also being a student-athlete, I’ll swim 2 and a half hour a day after school. Regardless of the homework given or test I’d find the time to accomplish it all, and get the grade to prove it. These are all things I want to do, things I've wanted always get my 100 % effort.…

I believe that i can fit into this community and that i can succeed in satisfying the missions and values of UWC, as i am hell-bent on making a difference in what our world has come to be.…

Going to college for the first year can be an unhealthy move for some college students because some students gain the “freshman 15” which means they gain fifteen pounds their freshman year in college. It is nearly impossible to not hear this fearful term once you’re in college. In high school they have their set lunch time and they only eat once during the 6 hours of school, because they only have that time to buy food unlike in college students can buy food at any time they want so there is more temptation and time for unhealthy food choices. The options there are for buying food either on campus or outside of campus aren’t the healthiest choices for the students, so that can contribute to some weight gain. Being busy with school, work and…
