This year I was involved in planning the annual blood drive for my school. This activity was time consuming as it involved a lot of planning. I knew that I had to work hard in order for the event to be a success. I also had to utilize some of my leadership skills in order to make the event happen. When I talked to my school’s National Honor Society, I told them why we need people to help us.…
Why are you interested in joining the Scarlet Ambassador team? I am interested in joining the Scarlet Ambassador team to share my love for Rutgers with prospective students. I know of the resources and opportunities that I have received since attending Rutgers and am truly proud of my university. It is my hope that by sharing my successes, failures, and experiences with prospective students that I will help them make a decision on a college that will positively impact me in the way that Rutgers has made a mark on me. How will your skills and experience be an asset to the Scarlet Ambassador program?…
I am Ahmari Jones, and I have been selected be apart of the National Junior Honor Society. This is not the first time I have accomplished this achievement. In fourth grade, at Hawthorne Elementary School, I was nominated to the National Elementary Honor Society. I was later elected president of that school’s chapter.…
National Junior Honor Society is a great opportunity for me! I have been dreaming to be in this society ever since the end of fifth grade. I would love to be involved in NJHS and share my suggestions and listen to other people’s ideas. I am very passionate to help those in need. For an example, I have donated many foods, clothing, utensils, and more to Vietnam and to the victims of Hurricane Harvey.…
What an honor it is to be a candidate for National Honors society. This ability displays that I have successfully shown my determination towards my future and will to serve the community. I can become a valued member of NHS because I am a hard-working student, dedicated, and trustworthy. I am interested in joining the organization because NHS would give me the chance to become a leader and thus, a worthy role-model for other people. By maintaining a strong GPA, I have proven to my teachers and myself that I am able to stay focused on my future dreams, such as getting into college and becoming a physician’s assistant.…
Ever since my eigth grade year when I witnessed someone I look up to be inducted into the National Honor Society, I knew it was something I wanted to accomplish in my high school years. The National Honor Society is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students and it is a great honor to be eligible for induction into this prestigious organization. As a very hardworking, dedicated, and reliable student, I possess the required qualities such as scholarship, leadership, service, and character, which make me eligible for this Chapter of…
I am deeply honored to be among the exemplary students who are being considered for the National Honor Society. I recognize that for one to be accepted into the National Honor Society, they must display effective leadership, selfless service, desire for scholarship, and honorable character. Furthermore, my mother has influenced how I live my life through her selfless acts of service for others. My mother, Karen Darwin, raised four children to become men today. In addition, my mother decided to return to college to earn her bachelor’s degree to become a registered nurse.…
I am genuinely honored to be a part of the outstanding students considered to be welcomed into the National Honor Society. Ever since I was in elementary school and took part of the National Jr. Honor Society it was always a dream of mine to come into high school and become a member of NHS. It was something I always looked forward to from the start and in order to make it happen I have been working hard to reach my goal. From the beginning of freshmen year, I have been enrolled in all honors courses and have achieved to keep my grades up. I have also been so ahead with math since my elementary school years that I got the chance to skip a whole year and go straight to the year ahead.…
Community is important to me. I grew up in a small town where you knew your neighbors, and chances were that you lived down the street from at least one of your teachers. Where every summer Saturday, the entire block would meet in somebody’s backyard- a fire would be lit, and all of us kids would roast marshmallows and hotdogs, and play on the wooden swing-set, playing out stories and adventures. My community wasn’t just a place where I lived and went to school- it was a family.…
Over the past several years I have strived not only to prove myself but to improve myself. The journey has taught me what it takes to become a successful student in and out of the classroom. With my experiences, I will be a beneficial member to National Honor Society through; my character, scholarship, leadership and service. An important characteristic trait to me is not about being recognized when doing good but doing good when others are not around.…
When I decided to volunteer at the Del Amo Gardens Care Center, I wasn’t quite sure if I was emotionally ready. In March of 2013, my grandpa suffered a very severe stroke. It caused so much damage that it paralyzed half of his body, so we had to put him in a nursing home. Shortly after starting my volunteering, however, any negativity faded away as I was eager to assist with the activities.…
The skills and confidence I could attain from the National Honor Society would prove to be extremely beneficial in the years to come. As a student, I strive for excellence in order to develop the necessary skills for pursuing a career in the medical field. I commit myself fully to my…
Throughout my college career, I have had many memorable achievements and gained lots of knowledge on valuable lessons. Yet there are specific lessons and achievements that stand out. Last year, I had the privilege of being asked to join Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society at UCR, which recruits the top 20% of all undergraduate students. By joining and becoming actively involved with the organization, I was fortunate enough to be offered the position of Vice- President of the organization, which is the most meaningful achievement I have had so far.…
I was one of the first recruits for the debut of the volunteer program at the Huron Valley Ambulance service and I played a role in shaping the program from within. I was made aware by my instructor that the paramedics were having difficulties accepting the idea of a volunteer program as they worried that volunteers would only be a liability and a chore to babysit. Consequently, I made sure to make myself useful to the paramedics and found them becoming accustomed to my presence. Furthermore, as one of the only volunteers who regularly served, I was approached by HVA leadership to help identify issues that were driving away volunteers.…
After my two full years at Roscommon High School, I am very grateful to have reached the standard for National Honor Society membership. This is an opportunity that not everyone has the privilege to be a part of during their high school career. I would like to display the ways in which I have demonstrated the required assets to be a part of this organization. Not only do I possess the qualities of character, scholarship, leadership, and service, but through N.H.S., I am certain that I will grow tremendously in each of these areas. The first quality I have demonstrated throughout my life, but more specifically, my high school career, is character.…
