Sophia Amoruso is an influential entrepreneur who has inspired millions of people around the world because of her immense success. Sophia was a young broke girl born in 1984 living in San Fransisco, California. During her late teens, she was a hitchhiker, dumpster diver, and sometimes would steal to get by. By the early 2000's, she decided that she did not want that life anymore and decided to do something about it. She enrolled in a community college and started working, doing odd-jobs and also other minimum wage jobs. During this time, she realized that she had a passion for vintage clothing and going on the hunt to find the best pieces. She began using her spare money to purchase vintage clothing for very low prices at thrift stores or estate sales. She figured out that she could resell these clothes for much higher than she purchased them for. This is where her eBay store Nasty Gal Vintage was born. It would later become one of the fastest growing companies that anyone had ever seen. Sophia Amoruso created her million-dollar clothing company with the opportunities that the free enterprise system brings to people. …show more content…
Sophia was able to create this company because she was able to bring something to the table that her competitors couldn't.
