Register to read the introduction… In Tata Motors I was assigned the job to study all processes going on and a project which included the automation of bearing pressing operation on the shaft of auxiliary gearbox used in AWD vehicles. I have done my fall internship at the same school but during the day. I feel that there is a lot I can do to support the students both academically and emotionally. During the first meeting with the counselor she expressed that being bilingual and bi-cultural will help. I know that there are not many opportunities to talk or have sessions with students, since they don’t have elective classes where I can see them, but I will try my best to be flexible with their schedules. I found out that they have a student government association, so I will try to be involved in their activities,…

An internship is normally a work task a student completes after a series of classes to gain a degree in a particular field they think they’ll love, whether they still love it after they’ve completed that journey is based upon a multitude of criteria. Luckily, I have found that I quite enjoy fashion and working in retail throughout this internship at Dress Barn. Occasionally students find that what they thought they were getting into, is actually completely different than what they expected. Especially when reading about a profession on paper versus seeing it up closer in real life. When I started college, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to study or achieve with my life.…

During my internship experience, I learned a lot of things that I thought I knew but are misconstrued on. With that being said, I know everything must be done in decent order or this will cause chaos and lead to confusion. I also learned everything takes patience and is very time- consuming. I became frustrated, so many times and just wanted to give up, but I had to remind myself that hard times are going to come and everything is going to work out. Many times I sat on my bed crying because it seems like everything piled on me at one time.…

In the book, “The Toyota Way” by Jeffrey Liker, the author introduces that the 14 principles of the Toyota way could be divided into four categories, including “long-term philosophy, the right process will produce the right results, add values to the organizations by developing your people, and continuously solving root problems drives organizational learning”. From my perspective, I want to talk about them from three major aspects. I will talk about their system firstly, then continue to show why they would apply these two systems because of the problem they are facing. Finally, I will say something about how their continuous improvement works and impacts on my life. We all know that the Toyota company is a famous Japanese company for producing the automobiles, their products have been sold to any place around the world.…

    • The Toyota Way illustrates 14 principles based on the authors 20 years of studying the company—these 14 Principles shape the underlying foundation of the unique management methods to lean manufacturing. This unique method is termed—“Toyota Production System” (TPS). But its continued success at implementing these tools comes from its philosophy--The Toyota Way, which is based on an understanding of people and what motivates them. • Liker contends that Toyota’s success stems from using the tools and quality improvement methods that make up TPS, thus turning operational excellence into a strategic weapon. Some of these tools consist of Just-in-time, one piece flow, jidoka, and heijunka. ).…
