SUBJECT: Sonora Plant Manager Candidates Criteria and Training Plan

Because of the imminent inauguration of Sonora plant, Mexico, I am pleased to suggest you the method how to selecting names of the candidates for managers that will projected to fill the vacancies. The recruitment staff has notified me that the structure of Sonora plant will be equal with other plants while it will be operated on 10 October 2014 (planned). In order to select new managers for the plant we must hire Managers from our other plant in USA.

Methods: In-house training conducted in US with Native teachers.

2. Business Managerial skills
As an overseas manager, planning, organizing, staffing, leading and monitoring abilities need to be sharpening (Agung, 2007). Training also consists of lesson how to implement the new modules on Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) program by SAP trainer, people development and strategic planning (short and long term include production and marketing) in Sonora Plant.
a. The purpose of training: Improving candidates’ ability to be an excellent manager and understand Mexico as a potential land of business.
b. Methods: In-house intensive training in US.
c. Length of time: 1 week.
3. Intercultural Communication
This training will include tips and tricks about how to adapt with Mexican culture easily because Mexican employees may find themselves excluded, inattentive and uninvolved in communications or dialogues with their managers, high power distance influences their communication behavior to keep the distance, or avoid communicating with their managers (Madlock, 2012). This training also enriches with material about how to communicate with employees and how to communicate with government of Mexico (do and don’t) and also enriched with knowledge of local habits and sensitive issues between USA and

4. Leadership skills
Training which consists of various outbound games aims to explore and bring the potential leadership and teamwork abilities of candidates. According to Agung (2007), this training also aims to develop their self-Improvement which consist of learning method and continuous improvement (Intelligence Quotient), emotional Quotient (Emotion control) and also public speaking and effective presentation session at the end.
a. The purpose of training: Develop the managers’ ability about how to lead their employees and achieve its company target.
b. Methods: Leadership training collaborates with John Robert Powers, one of leading personality development school in the world.
c. Length of time: 1 week in US.
5. Problem solving skills
According to Agung (2007), managers need to develop their ability to solve the business problems and provide a precise solution. Problem solving skills needed not only to solve the current issue, but also to predict problems that may arise in the future.
