It is hard sometimes to get funding from people outside the area or people who aren’t personally connected to someone with AIDS or a critical illness. The funding relies on the generosity of others which is highly unpredictable. Any donation big or small is highly appreciated and valued. The funding comes from donations from food to cars to homes. This problem has caused the store to be very low in fresh food items, but thankfully have never had a situation in which they ran out.
The consistency of donations is hard to project especially during certain times of the year some donate less, and other times people choose to donate more. The organization makes lists to make donating items easier. Many nonprofits in Sonoma County have had to partner with other ones to be able to keep running and be able to obtain enough donations. Mark Brudzinski the creative director, tries to create alternative ways for people to donate such as the antiques and estate sales, but also with mixed media he advertises about the program with artistic posters and art.
