Sonja Henie Accomplishments

During the 1920s there were many celebrities and stars that Americans idolized. Sports became a major form of entertainment and most people attended movies weekly so naturally sports stars and movie gained prominence. One such person was the incredibly talented figure skater Sonja Henie. Sonja Henie made many notable achievement and had a huge impact on the sport she loved.
Sonja Henie was born April 8, 1912. She was born in Norway in what is the modern day capital city of Oslo. In 1924 she appeared in her first Olympic Games at the young age of 11, but sadly she finished in last place. She later went on to win 3 Olympic gold medals.
