After reading several poems, the poem that stood out to be the most was from The Dream Songs. I am one of 13 children, and I am one of the youngest of my siblings. My older brothers and sisters were adults and live in their own home with their family. As a child, I would stay home and tell my mother I was bored. She would say not to tell her I am bored and to find something constructive to do. She would say go to the beach and enjoy the scenery. In from The Dream Songs written by John Berryman, he states, after all, the sky flashes, the great sea yearns. The first place I went on land was tide pool. This area is a dangerous hike, but at the end of the hike, the view and experience is beautiful. There is limited sand in this section of the island. It mainly has a lot of rocks. We had to walk up the rocky hill. Everyone had to make they held on tight to the rocks because if anyone fell, they would be hurt. But by the time we got to the other side, it was fun. We jumped from the rocks into the pool of water. Going back to the truck was a challenge because we were tired but we made it.
Fishing was another activity that I decided to do. I would go fishing in the eastern part of the island. I would go spear fishing or boat fishing. When I went spearfishing, I caught a shark, but the shark was big that it broke my spear gun. I caught conch, lobster, and octopus as well. When I went boat fishing, it was fun. The only thing that I needed to make sure was that I only caught the limit that was allowed. If I caught the over limit, I would be fined for every ocean wildlife creature that I caught. That did not stop me because I went fishing every day. My mother did not have to buy seafood
