Pritchard, Emma, Sarah and Janie were in Sarah’s Bug on there way to Mrs. Brown’s house. When they got there, Mrs. Brown rushed outside and invited them in without even needing a knock. They seated themselves in the living room and listened. Mrs. Brown had the first idea of the Freedom School. She and Mrs. Pritchard would teach people how to read and write so they could vote. Many people had been thrown in jail, but not her. For this she felt guilty. Every once in awhile they were threatened and even shot at. They had a good time fix up an old farm house into the school. It was located out by the soccer fields that Janie and Sarah used to play on when they were little. Sarah scribbled everything down in her notebook.
