There are many things in the world that hold a significant value, such as music. Music allows people to relate to a song by studying the elements it possesses, which creates a certain feeling that corresponds with the song and mood of the listener, therefore, making the song have a significant value. Most songs that have a significant meaning are written on a personal level by the artist. For example, the song “Wide Open Spaces” was written by Susan gibson who used her own personal experience of going off to college at the University of Montana. Anthem is a short dystopian novel originally published in 1938 by Russian-American author Ayn Rand. As with many of her stories, in Anthem tries to convince the reader of the importance of individuality and the danger of the collective. It describes a grim future where many of mankind’s scientific advancements have been lost and the concept of the individual is absent. This novella was later adapted for the stage by the director of the Galax High School theater group. In Unit One of Kristine Forney, Andrew Dell’Antonio and Joseph Machlis’ book, The Enjoyment of Music, we discuss a ton of different things. In the beginning of unit one, the authors write about melody, rhythm and meter, harmony, and the organization of musical sounds. Near the end of the unit the authors begin to write about musical texture, music styles, and music functions. The last topic discussed in unit one is sacred music in the middle ages. The music from Detroit, known primarily as Motown music, named after the record company that started in the very same city. The music was made famous by mostly African American performers, the influence came from the Great Migration, which was the large movement of the African American populations in the Agriculture based south to the industrialized north between 1915-1960. The sound of the music even shares similar sounds with the music types of the south, such as the blues and gospel. Gospels tone of using more emotion in their voice and a use of crescendo.…
In “Tell Tale Heart” and “I Can Stand Him no Longer” the conflict of being guilty about something is shared. In “Tell Tale Heart”, he cannot kill the man without seeing his eye, which is what he hates about him, which indicates guilt, as he would not have been able to justify his own crime to himself if he hadn’t seen the eye. He then provides a guilt-ridden confession to what actually happened to the man when the police came. In “I Can Stand Him no Longer”, towards the end the author writes “Through my guilt, my secret would not remain concealed, A heavy conscience will always make what’s hidden revealed.” This is in reference to the thought of acting upon his hate for the man, and this relates to “Tell Tale Heart” as that is what happened…

According to Floyd, “summertime” was the opening song written by George Gershwin for his folk opera porgy and Bess in 1935 which was an easy lullaby (218). Summertime was an aria and it is somewhat attributed to Ira Gershwin. The song became a well-liked hit and to a great extent recorded jazz standard and its lyrics written by Dubose Heyward who is the author of novel porgy. This song was been labeled as on the classics by many and to a large extent a xenophobic minstrel by others. Out of all the music I have heard recently, the one that I believe was the best exhibit source for this assignment was “Getting Better” by the Beatles. Unlike the other songs in the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album, this one has an indirect tension that is prevalent as the band explores some cheerful, hopeful reminiscences, strung together to create this musical piece. The main anecdote that this song embodies is that of the once hospitalized Ringo Star, who had tonsillitis and pharyngitis; this caused the band to find a replacement for the time until he could recover, so Jimmy Nichol served as the substitute. This paper claims that the Song of Song is a marker and by product of ancient biblical communal and theological identity with core values that upholds sexual purity and emphasizes the essentiality of desire within covenant love relationship.
