On October 24, 2013 a young black teenager was accused of stealing a belt that amounted to 349$. People automatically stereotyped him as being poor so they thought he stole it because “all black people” can’t afford to buy expensive items. He has never been in any kind of trouble before but in this case his color defined who he was which was a complete fraud since he was innocent.(Kerry) Many young blacks are often incriminated, in our community people use race as a reason to assume that someone is an offender. This all falls under the idea of police brutality, Most police officers use their profession to mistreat people instead of enforcing state regulations. An officer's duty is to certify that all citizens gain equal protection, not feel unsafe in their own environment. The promise of equal support to every person is essential for our society. They will always remember that dreadful past, and nothing can repair all the damage that was done to their own kind. The U.S constantly gives black people an image that no one wants to be known by. Even to this day they are accused of being thefts, uneducated, troublemakers and more. Will this world ever change or are people waiting for change to happen? Will African Americans ever feel at peace from the past they have experienced? Will they ever be able to live the American dream they should and always desired? It is only when people open their eyes and truly see all the damage that was caused to all the “Negroes” that they will be able to make a change. Until then this world will remain the same unaware of reality, all distress caused towards the African Americans wasn’t the result of actions of a civilized society but of a damaged
