Pink Floyd began in the underground London scene, where they developed their psychedelic sound. There are many ways to interpret the song. “The lunatic is on the grass” can refer to a mental hospital. However, SongFacts.com states that it is about the “Keep off the Grass” signs posted. The song itself doesn’t contain a noticeable chorus however, a few lines do repeat. The song itself is very slow and has a few parts that pick up. It’s extremely eerie almost.
