Track 1: “Love Yours” by J Cole The Album 2014 Forest Hills Drive was one of the many anticipated albums of the year. It was promised to be Jermaine Cole’s best work. Although it was different, it did not disappoint its audience. One of the more underrated songs of that Album was “Love Yours”. This song starts off with a soothing steady beat with a undertone of sadness, but as it progresses it steadily builds suspension and builds rhythm and it brings your heart to a race. Every single of my alarms is set to this song for not only its soothing sound, but also for its theme of gratefulness making it my reminder every morning. “Love Yours” is a meaningful message from Cole about how you should remember your blessings, remember who and where …show more content…
Songs are what help bring different emotions to the viewer such as fear or sadness. “Till it's gone” played a large part in one of my favorite movies, Black Mass, starring johnny depp. the song helps build suspense and fear throughout the movie. The movie is one of my favorites because of the soundtrack, and the best song on that soundtrack is “till it's gone” by yelawolf. without the song, Black Mass would not of gotten the same reaction from me and many others who have watched the movie. The specific lyrics of the song speak to the listener words of encouragement. Yelawolf preaches to his audience that they are not to be stepped on or over. He says people should stand up for themselves and should even fight for their rights. In the first verse, lyrics of encouragement are stressed by the author, “I'm not the table you can come and lay your cup down on, …show more content…
I use music while i study, when i'm walking and during car rides. but one of the most important times for me to listen to music is before i have crew meets to get hyped up for the race. The song i always use is “Bonfire.” in a way, “Bonfire” helps light a small fire within me that burns through the race. The song’s rast tempo helps to strengthen my nerves and at the same time get my heart racing. Critics of Rap music often say how all rap music is the same and how modern day artists have no unique talent. Childish Gambino proves that theory incorrect with this song. his song is unique in comparison to all other songs but still manages to inspire me to do greater. Lyrics are so different you even have to read into his life to understand them, “Put my soul on the track like shews did.” IN this line, Gambino relates himself to giving everything to his music and career to his best friend growing up as kid “shews.” Shews also put his soul on a track, but not in the lyrical sense. Shews committed suicide when he was 15 and his death Motivated Gambino to strive for greatness, just as his songs inspire me.I consider “Bonfire” to be the ultimate intricate rap song filling the listener with

This song set a new precedent for hip-hop, shaping it into a genre full of strong social commentary about the struggles of people of color and people in poor urban neighborhoods, and drawing attention to issues of institutionalized racism. The song sought to inform people of the conditions in their neighborhood and ghettos like it…

The music video is set in a tequila plantation and Bar and probably rural Mexico. This is nothing like where my relationship took place by any means. The setting didn’t have as much of an impact it was just overall the actions in which took place in the video. The singer started off by working out in the tequila fields and after a long hard day at work came by the to see his girl. This made me feel like me and my girlfriend after a long day at school or work we knew that we would always come see each other at the end of the day, which really helped me develop this deep connection knowing that at one point only the words drew my attention to the song but after seeing these scenes in the video I really saw a different point that brought me even closer to truly feeling the song thoroughly!…

It is definitely important to remember Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories because it helps us understand the hardships they faced as a culture and it can further help us recognise how we can close the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people share four main world views; culture, land, place and country and relationships. The world view, relationships, is conveyed many times in each of the literary texts by relating back to certain events that Aboriginal elders faced. Three texts that clearly represent the world view relationships are,; Change the Game, by the Colli Crew; Treaty, by Yothu Yindi and Took the Children Away, by Archie Roach. The Colli Crew’s song, Change the Game, is about the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people- mostly describing the people of the past; in the text, it states that they are singing from north Queensland near the border.…

The main topic in Eric Church’s song “Those I’ve Loved”, is that family and friends are the ones who help shape you as a person and who help make you the person you are today. By saying “I wouldn't be who I am today if not for those I’ve loved along the way”, Eric Church explains that he wouldn't have turned out the way he did without the people closest to him in life who were pushing him to be the best version of himself. “Where would we all be without those fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers, the friends I’ve made, the long lost lovers. ”- Eric Church.…

Also known as Jermaine Lamar Cole, J. Cole’s arguably most popular song, “Love Yourz” not only demonstrates palpable humility in which Cole compares the two types of lives he has lived, but also distress to a belief that this nation has built itself around, the American Dream. Rapping at the age of twelve, Cole’s love and passion for creating music has spurred him to become the harbinger of rap music in today’s society. Living with only his older brother, Zachary, his mother, and only the image…

OutKast, a popular rap group throughout the nineties and early 2000s, has a renowned song entitled “Hey Ya!” which features the smooth flows of Andre 3000 and hard hitting rhymes of Big Boi. The song has been a huge hit for years and is virtually known by every American under the age of thirty. When the song was released in 2003, I was just three years old, but had already adopted my dad’s love for music and I frequented the kitchen tile as my dance floor whenever music was playing. OutKast’s song “Hey Ya!” holds a different weight than most other songs I grew up around because it is one of few memories I remember vividly about my childhood.…

Artists like Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar are known for sampling other artist’s music or speeches and incorporating them into their songs to enhance the message or theme that is trying to be presented.
