A brick wall of freezing air hits your face as you walk down a seemingly clean and populated part of town. Your pace shifts as the weather on this particular day seems like the coldest in ages and yet you start to warm up as you near the epicenter of a part of town that seems to glow with its radiant warmth. The sidewalks are clean and well maintained; the shops are vibrant and lively with people enjoying the day. As you enter the Metropolis you are only greeted with a harsh and cold flurry of wind on your uncovered face and the ever more obvious colder stares coming from the frigid and dumbfounded people behind them. The stares seem to be the worst thing to bear as the cold stares are freezing your body so you shuffle your all black shoes…

Being that his father was with another woman and not with his mother allowed for him to feel anger towards him simply despising him. Do you know how it feels to be with the loved one, the person that makes you happy and secure by the fire warm? Cahn has done a good job putting his thoughts in this song saying that, even though there is a snow storm outside, and there is no place to go, as long as you’re with the person that you love it’s going to be fine. Cahn started with the first device, Personification. “Oh the weather outside is frightful…” (1;1), he uses personification here saying that there are too many snow piles outside and someone could get stuck, and it’s too scary to go out of the house because there might be an accident.…

The Golden Age was a period of great flowering in Spanish Art. It is likely that the Golden Age has begun in the mid-fourteenth century and ended around the sixteenth century with the end of the Habsburg Dynasty (Williams 158). “All Star” by Smash Mouth is encouraging song about choosing to be spectacular at what you do. The tone of the song is quite casual, written in first person and as if it was a conversation between the listener and the singer. It starts off with the singer admitting that “somebody once told me that the world is going to roll me”, and that he “ain’t the sharpest tool in the shed”. Clearly he doesn’t think that he amounts to much in the long run when it comes to following the rules and book smarts. This is furthered by him going to say that “it didn’t make sense not to live for fun, your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb”.…

The song I have chosen to analyze is called Where I Wanna Be, sung by an R&B artist named Donnell Jones. I decided to choose this song because of the message the artist portrays, which deals with a young man who is not ready to fully commit in a relationship between him, and his girlfriend. Thought the song he expresses his feelings in how he is not ready to fully commit. While at the same time tells her that he doesn’t want to hurt her. Although this song has no personal significance in my life, a person could understand how many individuals today could relate to this song.…
