Song Analysis: Charlie And Alice

Decent Essays
I chose this song because at the beginning of the book Alice and Charlie weren’t friends until her Aunt Polly died, and throughout the book Charlie and Alice start helping each other and having fun. In the song there is a part where it says, “Sometimes you think you’ll be fine by”, this part I believe explains how Charlie and Alice's relationship is most of the time. When Polly died Alice felt alone and Alice’s parents didn’t really care that she did die. So Charlie and Alice became friends the day of the funeral and they just started hanging out after that. There is another part that says, “It’s easy to feel like you don’t need help, But it’s harder walking on your own”, I feel this part goes good with the story because at first Alice tries

The band The Maine, formed in 2007 in Arizona, uses contrasting themes of happiness and sadness throughout their album American Candy, from which the song “(Un)Lost” comes. “(Un)Lost” is a song about finding oneself and recognizing the potential in themselves. From the title alone, it can be inferred that the song will discuss themes of being found and becoming lost, and in the context of the song this translates to finding oneself. The parenthesis around the ‘un’ part of the title signifies the simplicity of becoming lost. It is so easy to lose oneself in the modern world, and while recognizing this, the songwriter hints to the meaning of the song.…

Up till now I have focused on the lyrics of the songs, but the music is as important in telling the story. As we travel through Pink’s life we imagine hearing the chapters’ flip as the intensity of the lyrics change, as well as, the pattern of music. The album starts with a flashback of Pink performing at a concert. You can feel the sense of a musician he is: a rock star. The guitar is loud; one might say the guitar solo has a similar sound as a Jimi Hendrix guitar solo.…

Conclusion The hypothesis for how 80’s music would make it harder for the participants to focus was accepted. The data used from the experiment that supports the hypothesis was the different genres of music that each participant listened to, one of the genres of music was 80’s music and the participants that listened to 80’s music had a harder time focusing on the worksheet and got more time for the trials with music than without music. I think the results came out the way they did is because when your doing a math worksheet especially basic multiplication you have to be able to think hard. Trying to think hard while listening to music isn’t easy.…

When I first read the title of the movie, I did not think that it was going to be about Alzheimer disease. “Still Alice” appears to be a positive movie title. Consequently, I thought that the movie would be based on something positive.
