The piece “Sonata No. 1 for Piano (1909)” written by Charles Ives showcased an extremely long a wondrous piano perform by Prof. Morkoski. This solo work really demonstrates the ability of performing long pieces and it also is a piece that reminisces the audience of famous American works as well. Prof. Morkoski really did an excellent job in playing this piece, it really touches my heart seeing performers’ play with such passion for their music. After nearly forty rigorous minutes, Prof. Morkoski finishes off the concert off with Frederic Chopin’s famous “Ballade No. 4 in f minor, Op. 52.” Chopin’s was well known for being really slow and more of a romantic most composer. For being a composer that worked during the Romantic era of music, Chopin really captured the emotions of his audience in displays love, affection, drama, sadness in all of his works. Once again, Prof. Morkoski did a splendid job in performance that night and it was also a great honor to get a chance and meet her personally at the master class the Saturday morning after. She gave two classes to two different students and demonstrated an unbelievable approach on playing music. Prof. Morkoski showed the students how to tackle and master pieces in less than an hour. The two sessions were quite intense, but what I liked most about them was how fast Prof. Morkoski was able to approach the music with the students. The different types of steps on
