Somalia Civil War is an ongoing civil war that continues to take place. Siad Barre regime held the dictatorship until January 26, 1991. With the fall of Barre led to a rise in insurgencies fueled by clans and other groups. Somalia descended into chaos, the only unifying force was the clans. Somalia clans dictated how their members lived, who got food, and which members could earn a living. The United Nations (UN) reacted to the worsening food situation. In April 1992, under UN Resolution 751, a 550 man Pakistani security contingent arrived in Somalia to support distribution of $20 million in food aid. Under the UN Operation in Somalia (UNOSOM) a Pakistani force tried to quell some of the food-distribution problems caused by rival clans, but …show more content…

The combined convoy leaves at 1740hrs. They couldn’t break through the blockades that surrounded the crash site and had to return. QRF who consisted of the 10th Mountain Division gets into the firefight at the K-4 circle at 1745hrs. They then have to return to the airport. Super Six resupplies the TFR at the Super Six One crash site at approximately 1910hrs.
QRF arrives at the New Port at 2200hrs and leaves at 2323hrs with the Malaysians and Pakistanis. QRF elements dismount and move towards Super Six One at about 0036hrs. They link up with the TFR at 0155hrs. C Company had advanced toward the crash site of Super Six Four at 0210hrs. Somalis started to attack as soon as the site was occupied by Americans at 0227hrs. Rescue force could not determine where the bodies where for the crew and two Delta snipers. C Company threw thermites and overlooked the destruction of Super Six Four.
Time had become a big factor as every second could mean a bigger force of Somali fighters. At 0530hrs they finally extracted Wolcott’s body from Super Six One. At 0542hrs TFR begins moving out of the crash site. The column had 40-50 critical wounded. There was not enough capacity to seat everyman.
