The marketing domain of a company is one of its most vital domains. It’s the domain that oversees everything a company executes in order to acquire and maintain a lasting relationship with customers. The term Marketing is formally referred to as the combination of strategies used by a company in order to “match their products and services to the people who need and want them, thereby ensuring profitability.” To put it simply, Marketing in a company is understanding who the target audience is, and what measures will be taken to attain the attention of said target group. This implies that all actions, regardless of magnitude, taken by a company to attract the attention of their target audience falls under their marketing

In this case of Solvus, the name was strategically chosen by the marketing team for several reasons. The first reason was the element that from the name ‘Solvus’, many words can be derived from and applied to the company’s services. Some of those words are; solution, solvability, etc. The second reason was to eliminate any confusion surrounding the exact definition of the services provided by Solvus. As its previous name was ‘Start People HR Services’, and Start People is known for its temping services, there was a sufficient amount of confusion on whether ‘Start People HR Services’ provided temping or non-temping services. To make it clear to their clients and stakeholders that they were specialized in non-temping services, the name change from ‘Start People HR Services’ to ‘Solvus’ took place. Lastly, since the name Solvus was already under Start People’s ownership but was not in use, using the name was both a convenient and cost saving …show more content…
Their promotional strategies consist of three simple but effective tactics; merchandise, social media, and job fairs. To keep their name relevant and maintain a good relationship with its clients, to show their gratitude, they gift their clients with what they believe to be thoughtful merchandise such as pens, phone holders, and other small but considerate gifts. In terms of social media, that is Solvus’ main marketing platform. The company prides themselves on being extremely active on social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and their official website. They use these platforms in order to keep their current clients updated and potential ones intrigued, whilst minimising their costs. Solvus chooses not to use any type of magazine or newspaper advertising, as they believe that it’s costly and ineffective as most people use online news outlets to get their information.
