Solving Closed-Ended Questions

In this research project, I specifically ordered the questions to flow in a certain way. I start off with basic/starter questions, such as age, gender and race, to ease the person into the survey. Once a trust has been instilled, I then flow into more challenging and political questions. There is one, two-part contingency question regarding voting practices and who the participants voted for. Lastly, I give the participants likert scale type questions. These questions are specifically more challenging, however, have a consistent scale.
The wording for each question is aimed to be clear, short and exact. For each question, I utilize the aspect of directiveness to measure the exact responses of what each person might answer. I worded the questions such that the person does not need to consult records to answer the questions.
Overall, Question 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 are closed-ended question. For each closed-ended question, they are worded to avoid double barreled questions and are exhaustive but not exhausting. However, for Question 2 and 6, there is an answer option to fill-in-the-blank in order to be inclusive of all answers besides the answers already provided. The structured, closed ended

The level of measurement for the likert scale questions are ordinal. It is ordinal because it appropriately measures the attitudes towards the role of government in reducing poverty through an equally scaled measurement (strongly agree, agree, neutral, disagree and strongly disagree). The dimension for these likert scale questions are aimed to gather more information on the participant's’ current attitudes towards the role of government.
