Solome Alternate Ending

“Solome and I were to be married next month but things have changed now.” Hakeim says with a bit of reservation. He stands and goes over to a china cabinet and opens a drawer. With his back turned to Hunter his voice goes a little deeper and darker. “We must make the sacrifice so the world will be a better place maybe we can survive it you taught us well. Just say the word and it can begin.” Hakeim turns around with a gun in his hand but he doesn’t point it at him. Hunter sits back with a start, his sitting in such a way he cannot reach his weapon readily. His first instinct is to react quickly and kill Hakeim but he lets him go on.

Hunter studies his face for any hint of a reaction so far so good. Hakeim is thinking hard there is a spark. “I think I heard the woman who was opposed to this talking to someone in the hall outside my room. She was addressing them as Darkstar I think it was a man.” Hunter gets a little apprehensive and without thinking utters
