Solar City has established itself as market leader in residential solar power provider in recent years. The company has seen satisfactory growth over the last few years, though the recent months have been quite tough considering the falling oil prices and rising competition in the solar energy arena. Last few months have seen falling oil prices with increased fears of solar becoming less attractive but from a long term perspective, clean energy is the future and solar has a great potential in that front. With increasing awareness about environment friendly energy resources, Solar City needs to keep its position as market leader intact. Thinking about long term, during the next 5-10 years, Solar City should look for investment opportunities globally and should look to establish their footprint in overseas markets as well.
In the coming future, Solar City need to focus on industrial applications of Solar and diversify our business in terms of end user offerings of solar applications like solar power systems for small/medium commercial enterprises, partnering with manufacturers of solar-hybrid vehicles, solar panels for spacecraft, traffic lights, and portable solar power supply products. The basic idea should be to identify the needs of the customer and accordingly develop capabilities to fulfill those needs. This is what, in long term, will help the company in staying ahead of its
