Throughout all of our years in school learning is the focus, and learning history has been a huge part of this experience. How would history still hold the same importance if we weren't taught all of it, the complete truth? It is a fact that history sometimes repeats itself. Which can be either good or bad. How will we learnt he lessons of the world if we don’t know the trouble of the past. We should teach Truth’s message because she taught us that we have the right to be equal. We should teach Shakespeare because he opened our eyes to the different people of the world and why they are this way. M why should children not be taught these lessons? Aren’t they important? Don't we still need to be taught equality and understanding? The place we live in now could benefit from learning these lessons again.M So, why would we prevent them from learning it a first time. They are lessons to be learned and that’s what history is intended to be, a lesson.
I understand that history can be a difficult concept. It would be easier to get rid of the subject. Also, people say these stories are “too harsh” ad “we shouldn’t expose our children to it.” my counterargument is that history was not all fun and games, or freedom and happiness. There are people who suffered to obtain the freedom and happiness and if we can’t remember them, what is the point in being free? We will end up suffering
