Sojourner Truth Experienced a plethora of destructive moments after being separated from her parents. After being separated from her parents she did not see her parents again. This young girl was sold in a slave auction to a white man named John Nealy; Sojourner Truth went through hard times being a slave of John Nealy and, Sojourner Truth remembered John Nealy as harsh and violent. Sojourner truth was then sold to another white man in West Park, New York. It was those years Sojourner Truth learned to speak English. Truth met another slave named Robert from a neighboring farm. Even though their relationship was forbidden, the two had a daughter. Later on, her master drew her attention to an older slave named Thomas. She gave birth to a son and then to another daughter. She left with her infant daughter, and her other daughter and son stayed behind. After her depart, Truth found out that her five-year-old son, Peter, had been illegally sold to a man in Alabama.
