Sojourner Truth real name in Isabella Baumfree. She was never taught how to read or write which was very common for slaves. Sojourner Truth became a moving speaker for women's rights and for black freedom. John Neely was a violent slave owner that had beaten Sojourner everyday when she was sold to him at nine years old. Sojourner Truth has a highway named after her Michigan´s interstate highway 194. She was the first African American female to be honoured in the U.S. Capitol.
