In the trove of memories that I have from the visits to Florida, one in particular stands out. One day when we visited in June we went to Blue Springs park. It had crystal clear water so you were able to see 40ft to the bottom. After swimming in spring water for a while we rented canoes and went down the river it was connected to. We had enough fun after a couple hours and we were about to finish the day off by jumping off a 5ft ledge into the 40ft deep water.…

Growing up in Southern California we spent most of our summers at Lake Havasu and Parker. For as long as I can remember, getting to spend my summers on the lake with my close friends and family was what got me through the school year, knowing that for a full month I would have no cares in the world except for what adventures lay ahead of us. As the school year came to an end, all we could think about was getting to the lake to start our last summer together before we all ventured off in separate directions. Starting to pack and load up the RV was all I could think about for days, seeing as this was the last summer we would all spend together.…

When I was about 14 years old, I spent the summer at Camp Lake of the Woods in Decatur, Michigan. From canoeing in the beautiful waters of the three hundred and twenty-acre lake to doing ceramics at the arts and crafts studio, there was never a dull moment at that place. Some of the camp’s amenities include an equestrian center, three baseball diamonds, dance and gymnastics pavilions, and ceramics and arts and crafts studios (Camp Lake of the Woods). Meanwhile, the aquatic options and waterfront boast a three hundred and twenty-acre lake, a heated swimming pool, an aqua volleyball court, a water trampoline, seven ski boats, and numerous boats, boards, canoes and kayaks (Camp Lake of the Woods). Within recent decades, there has been an experience in the decrease of the soil health and fertility around the world. There are many causes to this, which will be explained later on into this essay. This is a problem that needs to have more focus put on it because soil health and fertility is arguably the basis for all of our foods and without having healthy and fertile soil, there will be a decrease in the amount of crops produced.
