Softball By Lauren Chamberlain: A Personal Analysis

On october 5, 2015 I stared across the living room at my parents wondering how I was going to find the words to explain to them one of the most difficult decisions of my life. I had loved softball since I was a little girl and despite many years of hard work and hundreds of hours, I couldn’t help but wonder if this was the right choice for me. Growing up watching my idol, Lauren Chamberlain pursue her dreams inspired me, I spent much of my childhood emulating my hero and dreaming one day I could be just like her. My dreams were briefly interrupted when I started thinking about the future as I got older and realized that my heart really wasn't in the game of softball as much as it once was. After visits to smaller universities and long talks with head coaches, I had come to realize that playing softball in college and the small school atmosphere wasn't really what I wanted anymore. For so long I had been convinced that softball was what I was going to do, my plans had changed. I have always excelled in these classes and they have always came easy to me. My mom graduated nursing school in 2007 and this is when I really became interested in going into the medical field. Watching my mom go through many hard years of schooling to do what she loved most inspired me and encouraged me to do what i believed I would love. I had always loved how the medical field worked and knew that I would pursue my career in this field and not just like it but love my job and that's when i knew this is exactly what I wanted. After graduating high school I plan on attending a four year university to major in biology and finally go into pre-medical. I do believe that I want to become a doctor someday but i'm not quite sure what specialty
