I am usually a very busy person and right now I am starting to play softball again and have practice Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. I had a two month break from softball and I am now starting a travel ball team. I played softball all stars in the summer and then I went on a week trip with my friend and her family to Lake Almanor. In the middle of my trip my family came up. We found out the my grandpa’s cancer had spread to his lungs and throat and that he was terminally ill. For about a month we would visit him every day not know when his time was going to come. The cancer was spreading and it was getting very hard for him to swallow and breathe. On August 7th he passed away. All of my family was really close to him and this summer

Why were black people segregated from baseball? Today many of the legends and greats we think of were African Americans, and it’s crazy to think they were excluded from the MLB just sixty years ago. They were segregated from anything you can think of at the time, and sports weren’t excluded. No matter if you were an Olympian athlete or a baseball all star chances are you’d end up with a dirty low pay job. Sixty miles per hour is the speed at which the average softball player throws the ball; so I guess you could say I was in the wrong place at the wrong time, but I believe I was exactly where I was supposed to be. Softball has always been a favorite past time of mine. The heat from the summer days, the smell and taste of Gatorade and sunflower seeds always bring me to the memory of playing softball. Merriam Webster Dictionary defines softball as a sport that is similar to baseball but that is played on a smaller field and with a ball that is pitched underhand and that is larger and softer than a baseball When playing softball, you have to have a glove for catching, a bat for batting, cleats for playing in the field and a uniform to match your team. Some other necessary gear you would need is softball pants, team shirt, high top socks, and a bat bag to hold all of your gear. Although different positions call for different items.…
