Sofa to Represent Our Sorority
Throughout the multiple years that the Eta Upsilon Chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma at Lynchburg College has been established; we have been in dire need of a new sofa. We initially received a donated sofa from our Alpha chapter at Longwood in 2007. However, as the years have gone by the sofa has aged unpleasantly: the material is slowly detaching itself, the springs are coming out of the bottom, there is no longer a cushion, and we have wooden boards preventing us from collapsing in. Within the comparison table; I put five sofas to choose from based on their alternatives. Once the comparison table was completed it became rather obvious as to what sofa I was going to …show more content…
I particularly picked this sofa because through the overall compensatory decision rule it received the highest weighted score in terms of each relevant attribute, and with the conjunctive decision and disjunctive rule in which I simply eliminated other considerations if they were not able to meet certain attributes such as at least 4 stars in customer experience.
After several weeks on my initial purchase of the sofa; I am still extremely satisfied with the decision that I made. The sofa was under my budget by $260.73, perfect sizing of my living room, matched all of my furniture within my household, and I received two free pillows to go along with the sofa. This not only allowed me to purchase something else for myself but also allowed me to keep everything in the same spot, and become relaxed as the semester was coming to a close. Furthermore, I am insanely happy with my new sofa and every aspect of it; it was well worth the time and effort that I put into finding

This feature of the SUB Lounge is the cherry on top of a sundae. One thing I have learned from my first three weeks of college thus far is, my high heels may look adorable, but they aren’t comfortable to walk around campus in. With that said, it’s very nice having the SUB Lounge on campus as a place to go plop down on a squishy couch and give my feet a rest. The entire room is full of couches, seats, and upholstered benches. Not only is there room for me to sit, but also a place for my hefty backpack carrying $200 worth of text books.…

Leaders, strong, courageous, self-defining, outspoken, headstrong, dedicated, loving, humble, and proud, the words that I use to describe my three Delta cousins. However, it is possible to sum these characteristics into one simple, descriptive phrase; distinguished women. My interest in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is built on the basis of these three women. These women have watched me grow to the woman that I am today, but I too have watched these women.…

Even when the couched was moved to the other side of the room, one couple sat in the same place where the couch had been, but within a day the couch had been moved back to its original position and a couple was sitting on it again! This suggests that there is an attraction not just to the couch, but also to the placement of the couch, with a wall at the couple’s back and a clear view of their surroundings in front of them. It would seem that the combination of the social security of the wall and the ability to sit next to each other on the couch makes for an irresistible combination. No matter the circumstance, I have observed that couples will sit in a particular area of the fireside room, especially if they can be next to each other on the…
