Many studies confirm that sugary drinks such as soda or fruit juices are the main cause of tooth decay and tooth erosion. Studies found a high levels of tooth decay and tooth erosion in Olympic athletes. Why is that? They confirmed that it was mostly through the consumption of sports drinks that contain many sugars. International studies found that sodas were the main cause of dental erosion. Sodas were the main cause of dental erosion rather than other drinks or dietary foods like milk, fruit juices, or drugs. The correlation between dental decay/erosion and soda consumption is so obvious and positive that dental researchers can determine the soda consumption of someone through their teeth.
