first of all because it would not even change the way people eat. It is proven that an average New Yorker goes to the movies four times a year and only two of those times they buy concessions. There are 363 other days in the year that the person has to make a greater impact on their health. It would be better if they banned candy and milkshakes with it, but only the soda drink sizes are decreased. There is no law that lowers milkshake sizes or a law that regulates candy and junk food intakes. This law will do nothing but annoy the citizens of New York.
Taking away large drinks from restaurants will majorly hurt restaurants and businesses that are known for their large, hard to hold drinks. Mc. Donalds, PepsiCo, and Coca-cola all see it as a discriminatory ban. That it will lower their businesses and build up others. What will happen if 7-Eleven had to take off their popularly known big gulps.
