Soda is an addiction and all addictions have corruptive side-effects. Some side-effects of soda include irritability, restlessness, tension, insomnia, high blood pressure, gastrointestinal disturbance, excessive urination, irregular heartbeat, cell damage, dehydration, an impaired digestive system, liver problems, metabolic syndrome, accelerated aging, and cancer. Soda has toxic chemicals-brominated vegetable oil, or BVO, is an example. BVO is an industrial chemical used as a flame retardant in plastic, it is known to cause memory loss and nerve disorders when consumed in large quantities. BVO is used in soda to prevent the flavoring from separating from the soda. There is an ingredient included exclusively in dark sodas called caramel coloring.
