Sock Monkeys are still popular items in today’s culture. Sock Monkeys can be found on television commercials, on television shows, and in movies. Their image is also present on different pieces on different products such as fabric, clothing, and many other goods (Linder). Anyone can sell items with the sock monkey’s image on them because the patent of original red-heeled sock monkey expired in 1970 (Midway Village). Many people have also re-created sock monkeys to create other sock images. Sock imitations can be in the form of almost any animal including but not limited to dogs, cats, frogs, and reindeer. One book published three years after the Nelson Mill Company received their patent, a book was published titled How to Make Sock Toys which
