They would do so by using their greatest tool against people which is pathological lying. For them to be a pathological liar it means that they lie simply to gain something. Sociopaths use this technique to gain pity and sympathy. These pathological lies are usually so well- thought through and cunning that almost always in the end someone gets hurt and it is the sociopath’s job to ensure that it is not himself. They also do not care how their lies may affect the lives of others, due to their inability to experience emotions, just as long as it is beneficial to them in the way they want it to. Sociopaths, while using pathological lying, have also been known to make up heart wrenching stories of being abandoned at a young age or beaten for example just to gain other’s pity for most of them lived a well desired, middle class life. One example that I have included is from an article off of verywell.com entitled “Three Infamous Sociopaths” written by Angel Rouse. It is about a sociopath by the name of Diazien Hossencofft who made a living out of being a con artist. He was not only deceitful in his career but in his personal life as well where he convinced a woman through pathological lying that “he was a cancer-ridden, shape-shifting reptile-alien from another planet who had been sent to earth to kill his evil nemesis, his wife Girly Chew, and that he needed her …show more content…
A person’s background can add onto the development to sociopathy or initiate it in the first place but you cannot just become one as a result of the sociopath’s past involvements. You have had it within yourself since the time of conception it sometimes just takes a family issue, traumatic event, or an experience with abuse to trigger the effects of sociopathy. The only rare circumstance where a sociopath may be created not at birth is if you have a “traumatic brain injury to the Para limbic system.” There have also been studies and evidence to show that “sociopaths are less influenced by childhood experiences than normal individuals” as explained by author Corey Leindenfrost in his written article “What are the causes of a sociopath.” This as well supports my argument on how environmental factors have little to no significance in the functioning of a sociopath. Sociopaths, for the most part, live a rather normal life, apart from those that let their anger get the most of them, to where they then committed crimes. Most people, in fact, do not even realize that they are sociopaths. They just think or associate themselves as being “different” from others. To justify this, I have taken an example from the article “Sociopath World” where a lady explained how “sociopaths know they are different and will force themselves to think and act like
