The short film Breathe directed by Toby Meakins depicts two men conjuring a ghost by holding their breath, the longer they hold their breath the more she does. The one man who had obviously done the interaction before then suffocates the man that he introduces to the supernatural girl. I believe that he does this because he classifies as a person with antisocial personality disorder. I think this because he shows a lot of indicators that would classify him as a psychopath or a sociopath. There are slight distinctions between psychopaths and sociopaths although they do share multiple personality traits including a disregard for laws and social morals, disregard for the rights of others, a failure to feel remorse or guilt, and a tendency…
“We Need to Talk about Kevin” was released in 2011 is the film I chose for my film analysis. Out of the five films that I could choose from, I watched We Need to Talk About Kevin interested me the most and I acknowledged many interesting, and unique cinematic techniques that I was eager to talk about. The two minute sequence that I have chosen I felt was particularly interesting. In those two minutes of footage the personalities of Eva, Francis, Kevin and Celia are portrayed perfectly and clearly for the spectator to seethe psychopathic betrayed by Kevin through the use of mise-en-scène, sound effects, music and flawless acting. The first thing that caught my eye during my first watch of “We Need to Talk about Kevin” was the strong use of the color red which is highly symbolic of the inevitable bloodshed.…

The immense sadness that comes with death will always be prevalent in the souls of humanity. When someone who touched our lives leaves the physical world questions of why the sudden fatality occurred arise. Who cause the families and friends this intense dolefulness? It has been a desire of many who lose others due violence to find out why others choose to harm others. Two types of vicious killers that may give us an insight to why they committed inhumane crimes are psychopaths and sociopaths.…
The most incredible characteristic of a sociopath is their complete absence of empathy, lack of conscience, remorse, guilt or shame. Sociopaths are like chameleons, they can easily depict real remorse but the picture they show outside has little similarity to the reality that is going on behind the screen, their reality is well hidden, and only known by the sociopaths themselves. “Depending on the authorities quoted, sociopaths may constitute up to 35 percent of the prison population and are responsible for as much as 80 to 90 percent of all crimes” ("NCJRS Abstract - National Criminal Justice Reference Service"). Consequently, for these people who do not give a care what others think of them, just a simple public shaming may not be a complete…

Not all sociopaths are what you think they are. Although she thinks different than most people she still has a good mind set. In the first place, she was a victim of child abuse by her dad when she was young ,but she is not a murder or a criminal. Although all serial killers are sociopaths not all sociopaths are serial killers. When she was 8, she almost drowned ,but luckily a lifeguard saved her.…
This as well supports my argument on how environmental factors have little to no significance in the functioning of a sociopath. Sociopaths, for the most part, live a rather normal life, apart from those that let their anger get the most of them, to where they then committed crimes. Most people, in fact, do not even realize that they are sociopaths. They just think or associate themselves as being “different” from others. To justify this, I have taken an example from the article “Sociopath World” where a lady explained how “sociopaths know they are different and will force themselves to think and act like…
They want to act out of their fantasies. The same fantasies they had had as children are the ones they want to still act out as adults. Once they have had their first kill, they want to continue so they find the kill that is as perfect as their fantasy. There is a lengthy list of some of the motivators as to why children abuse animals. Some of these motivators are the children want something to control or retaliate against, to express aggression through an animal.…
There are some people, there are varying parts of the spectrum with some people showing minimal tenancies while others act on all tendencies to the extreme. They can also be categorized by the focus of their antisocial behavior. Common Sociopaths are characterized by their lack of conscience, alienated sociopaths are known by their inability to love and to be loved. Aggressive sociopaths follow the others, but also incorporate an of sadistic nature., while dissocial sociopaths have no problem follow rules as long as the rules are wrong rules which would not be acceptable in society. All sociopaths are quite manipulative and gain pleasure from dominating and humiliating their victims who are usually friends, parents, siblings, and partners.…
