PART I (SUMMARY) Intersectionality: Intersectionality, is “we are not just men or women. We are a white, middleclass, married woman-once catholic, now Evangelical Christian- with a two year old…”(Wade & Ferree, 2015,84). My favorite thing about this is the idea of belonging to multiple groups. The reason is because I can now have many shared experiences. For example I know the struggles of being a woman and the struggles of being non-white. I know the culture behind the Mexican community, and I can go on about the many different groups I belong to. I want to go out and talk to men and women about their relationship. I think the second shift hits close to home for me, and I think these issues begin at home. Kids see, kids learn, and do as we do, not always as we say. I am tired of seeing women work really hard and being expected to do more work on top of their daily careers. I am tired that women are treated less of what they are worth. I am just tired of all the issues involving women, because besides the racial discrimination which is always talked about, women’s issues are not as popular, it turns into heated arguments with battle of the sexes. I just would love to work on doing my part to help contribute to changes for women, because we still get paid less, we are still expected to do our “second shift” and we still have the gender binary to deconstruct on top of all this. The issues for women are like at snaillike speed, because apparently women “don’t” face issues anymore. Let’s all just forget women are still amongst the high targets of being raped, if you are colored and LGBTQ your rates for hate crime or being victimized in any way go higher. Our issues as women are not settled and I do not know what to do now, but I am definitely going to do my research and find ways to fight for my rights, I want domestic violence to end, trafficking, the breastfeeding issue, stalking, harassment, rape, and other various issues women face to one day not exist. I know some might say this is impossible, but without the word “possible” it wouldn’t be
