In the reading “Finding Out How the Social World Works” by Michael Schwalbe, he discusses the importance of being sociologically mindful, a concept by which an individual is aware that everyone may have a different perspective on life and acknowledging it. The author also talks about being a mindful skeptic, by which he means we must always learn to question information presented to us and not always believe everything we hear to be true, have an open mind to learn new information. He says, “Being mindful in these ways puts us on alert against fraud, yet it does not cut us off from learning” (Schwalbe, 2013).
