Decent Essays
Another sociological factor that taught me to value what I have and work harder to be successful is my ethnicity. I consider myself to be Mexican even though I was born in the United States because my parents were born in Mexico and I have been brought up with that culture. Ethnicity is a term that describes shared culture—the practices, values, and beliefs of a group
(Keirns, et al., 2015). With that being said since I am Mexican I am part of a minority group. A minority is basically a group who lacks power in a society compared to the dominant group (Keirns, et al., 2015).
