It has been recognized by many countries and has been seen in their developmental plans, that it is important to have community support especially that of community based organisations in supporting and implementing national policies. This approach is necessary in addressing the issues related to child abuse, especially the development and implementation of policies to address child abuse. The need for greater community involvement in Government initiatives has been highlighted in Jamaica’s Vision 2030 Developmental Plan.
