This dark and aggressive song, by Big Pun, promotes the idea of revenge, retribution and ruthlessness. It includes endless lines of pure violence and harsh messages written in breathtaking poetry, that is powerful enough to completely possess an individual’s attention. Big Pun is without a doubt lyrically gifted, but the morals and ethics he is advocating are troublesome for modern society. He describes murder as something he is born to do, essentially spreading the idea that he is good at it and proud. In addition to this, he raps about emotions of remorse being a negative thing, teaching people that “feeling bad” for others is not a desirable attitude.…

And there’s a big impact on that socioeconomic status where there’s this role of husband and wife. It’s a real-life problem in today’s society. The husband is going out being unloyal and the wife knows that but because of society, the wife is supposed to forgive the husband for his indecent acts even if it hurts her. I think the artists want to show that this is a recurring problem in today’s society and he has done it quite well with the lyrics and the video showing pathos, ethos, and…

Perhaps to the point in which it is verging on the impossible. ‘Eve of Destruction’ expresses a strong but heartfelt warning towards how our hypocrisy as a society is edging us closer to our own demise . The writer, P.F Slogan, addresses both the solider and society singing about being on the ‘eve of destruction’. He wrote, “You’re old enough to kill but not for voting”, “you don’t believe in war, then what’s that gun your totin.”…
