1. Hello Allysa, after reading you blog analysis I believe you did a great job on items 1, 3 and 5. You did a great job keeping within the required 500-600 words. You also made sure to write your analysis completely in third person. Your two examples were also very well done. They were very easy to read and understand. You also clearly explained how they tie into Newman’s concepts.

2. After reading your analysis I noticed that Newman’s concept that states how social class can affect every aspect of an individual’s life. This can tie into the article because lower income families in Chicago are struggling and a main reason affecting them are lack of resources including income and education. We have learned how social status can influence everything about someone’s life. (Newman 2016:124)

For your next blog, I noticed you could improve on items 1, 2 and 4. You had two concepts from the textbook, but I believe more could have been explained about the concept. Maybe go into a bit more detail putting the concept in your own words. You also could improve your sociological analysis. You seemed to have parts in your analysis that had some opinion to it and you can improve your paper if you make sure not to state any opinion for your next analysis. You only really had two items that could be improved on so I am going to say for item 1 to make sure you don’t go over your word limit. You didn’t go over but you were close. If I didn’t have to name three items I would not have mentioned it. You only had two items that need

Title Enrolling the EOF program has lighten up a path in life that would have gone completely undiscovered had I walked alone. Along the path was my introduction to college writing, a class that has improved my writing skills profoundly. At first the tasks given to us on the syllabus seemed daunting, almost insurmountable within the five-week period of the program; it seemed even more inconceivable with the class being only twice a week. However, with the guidance and instruction given to me by the professor and peers I was able to strengthen my work as a student.…

Honestly, at the start of the semester I didn’t think I could write a 9 plus page scholarly article. Or, rather, I thought I could turn an essay in that made little impact on me but got me a decent grade. Looking back, however, I think I’ve produced a good paper. When I started, my main goal was to learn more about an organization I was curious about. To me, Planned Parenthood has been on organization unfairly attacked and I wanted to learn more about how their organization itself felt about these claims of illegal abortions and use of fetal tissue.…

The Cornerstone Seminar is the first college class that I have taken in eleven years, so what can I say, I learned a great deal, or in actuality… I am sure relearned. I was a continual college student for a period of six years either part time or full time during the early 2000’s, but I muddled around and changed my degree four times. Hey – I want to know everything about everything – and that’s a big task! It’s an annoying peculiarity about myself that I am attempting (yes, this is in present tense) to overcome. I have genuinely enjoyed the class and am appreciative of Dr Clermont-Ferrand for her attentiveness and approachability.…
