Socioeconomic Influences
My family was middle class. My father worked long hours as a car salesman. My mother stayed home and cooked, cleaned, did laundry, ran errands and did the shopping, took care of my sister and myself, and was the parent in charge of getting us to school and helping with homework. My dad was not home much. When he was not working he played golf and was active within the community. However, he did like camping and took us often on weekends once my sister and I were in elementary school. I enjoyed it immensely. We fished, sailed, hiked, biked, cooked outside and learned about nature. My father was extremely creative and artistic which, when he was with us, made things exciting and fun.
