Society's Fall Show Case Study

Decent Essays
We are writing to you regarding our Society’s Fall Show that was held October 12 -15, 2017. There were several situations that took place during the show that we need to address with you so that you can understand our concern.

1. The show invite was very specific as to whom to contact and when payment was required. The wording on the vendor email invite reads “Please let Susan know if you plan to vend at this show. Contracts & payment are due on or before set up on October 11, 2017”. You did not adhere to this, but instead chose to deal with Annette Rogers on your interest in vending at the show and then gave her a post dated check.
In the future any vendor that does not follow the specifics of the contract will not have space at the show.

2. The Society plant hotel is to hold

3. It was reported that you intentionally stuck your elbow out to elbow Annette out of your way when she approached you about the plants being held in the cashier area. When asked about it you said that you did not touch her only later to come back and say that you maybe bumped into her and that she will just have to get over it.
As an organization and business, we have to take any unwanted physical contact very seriously. This not only put Annette at risk of being hurt or falling it also put the Portland Orchid Society & O’Loughlin Trade Shows at risk.
To address this incident it was decided that you would not receive an invite to the Spring 2018 Show & Sale.

Greg, we value you as a member and hope that you understand our position pertaining to these matters. We have to have a structure in place to run the shows such as the vendor contracts & plant hotel and cannot allow any further incidents of verbal outburst or unwanted physical contact. If there are any other incidents we will have no other option other than to not allow you at society meetings, shows and

On September 9th I attended a Phi Slam event called Kaleidoscopic Color-Dressed Chromatic Dance Fest. This was a social dance event that is completely dry and it is essentially a giant dance party. The guys in Phi Slam, which is a Christian organization that is similar to a fraternity but they do not do typical frat things such as drinking, hazing or smoking, set up the event. Phi Slam has events just like fraternities and sororities do. This event was just one of the many events they put on throughout the year.…

He said any information that is required to find out who was working on as well as obtaining any security video footage within the mall is to be done through writing to the Director of Security, Mr. Daniel Luna. Another event could be planned for the same weekend. Bands could be booked and not able to participate in the event. Also, restaurants may not be so willing to provide everything for free, so there may need to be some way to compensate them at least partially. Leadership Assessment In order to pull this off, a situational form of leadership will be required.…

Action: Q9 Identify the reasons for agreeing the purpose, content, layout, quality standards and deadlines for the production of documents When we produce a document we need to ensure it is fit for purpose and delivered on time. For example if my hotel manager asks me to produce a poster to advertise that in 2 weeks we will host a karaoke night, I would bear in mind the following for the production of the document: - The target audience is mainly our hotel guests but we can accept some visitors. - Understand whether it is a free event or a ticket must be purchased, if you whether it should be in advanced or at the door.…

During this interaction, I felt less anxious about the people around me because it again wasn’t as crowded as Bath & Body Works. However, I was still somewhat worried about what the worker would think of me. The sentenced I used was, “Are the backpacks upstairs?” I prolonged the “th” in “the,” and did a sound repetition on the “b” in “backpacks.” While speaking I again tended to avoid eye contact.…

When the word “home” is defined in a dictionary you are given definitions like “the place in which one’s domestic affections are centered” or “any place of residence or refuge” but to me home means so much more. To me, home is theatre. Those who know me well will attest that the change in me throughout this experience is drastic. Theatre transports me to places I couldn’t dream of otherwise and two years ago, I was taken to a place that would change my life forever and theatre transformed to the place I call home. Thoughts and ideas flooded my mind as I stepped into the off-green colored cafeteria.…
