The period from 8000 BC to 500 BC was a significant time for the society and economy in the human history. Since the human species evolve, many things like their religion, culture, economy, have changed a lot but some them still remain the same. To start with, The society during from 8000 BC to 500 BC has become more complicate because people had create a class system, they also start to settle down and the men’s labor in the society has become more important. But they still have a leader and the work are divided by gender. While in the economy, people became farmer and start to farm, the hours that they have to work is increasing dramatically and create surplus. Later on the band began to expand in population, from 10-12 people in a group to 25-50 people in a group and they form a tribe. Usually, bigger tribe mean they have better hunting gear like spear and a leader to lead the group. A shaman is also an important role because most of the people in the Paleolithic period are animistic and they need a person to communicate with the spiritual world. While in the economy, paleolithic people don’t have any specialized job like farmer, metalworkers or priest because they all have the same set of skill that they use to hunt and gathering food. Since they share the food and tools among the people in the band, there were no concept of rich and poor at that time and the can’t store food for a long time so there was no surplus. At the end of the Paleolithic period, the society is changing a lot. First, take the Sumerians people as an example. During the Sumerian period, they have create a brand new class system that consist of 3 major classes: The upper class, middle class and slave. The upper class in the Sumerian is the priest, landowner and government official. The reason priest are one of the highest class in the society is because they perform ritual and ceremony.
