My family is the most important socializing agent in my life. From the time that I was a little girl, family has been at the center of my life. We were always very close and still are. Growing up my parents were faced with many health challenges but we knew that we could get through anything because we had each other. I still hold that same belief today. Now, I am a mother of four 4 and my children are the most important part of my life. I have learned so much about myself from being a mother and I continue to learn something new every day. My community is another important socializing agent in my life. I live in Lindenhurst, which is a great community to raise our family. The greatest thing about our community is that we come together to support others in our community. After Super Storm Sandy, the outpouring of help, food, clothing, shelter, etc., was overwhelming and made me proud to live here. I am actively involved in the Elementary School PTA, as well as the Middle School PTA. I have the opportunity to work with administrators, teachers, staff and students to discuss our community, fundraise and bring educational programs to help our students, as well as better our community. Finally, returning to college is another socializing agent that has had a great influence on my life. Returning to school at the age of 43 was not easy but giving up was never an option. Even though it is difficult to juggle family, work and school it is important to show my children that you can do anything you set your mind to. After going through the closing at Dowling, I have found a new home at Molloy. I have met so many helpful and supportive people that have
