There are many forms of socialization and parental education portrayed throughout the film. All babies demonstrated a clear form of socialization. The parental affection was present throughout each culture. Each mother soothed their baby how they could. The mothers made sure their babies were fed, regardless of the resources. Opuwo, Namibia mothers fed their children with breastmilk and the older children shared food from one pot. Other more privileged babies, like the San Francisco baby would be granted an entire banana for herself. Another baby was offered solid food with a toothpick to begin savoring food. All babies throughout the film demonstrated frustrations in the same manner, with tantrums when a baby felt threatened or uncomfortable with an outcome. Each child played with what resources were available. The baby from Opuwo, Namibia played with gestures, sticks found along the way or by exploring with friends or siblings. The baby from San Francisco played in the park with a toy car. Another baby played in the field with her sibling. This shows that regardless of the resources, a child’s mind will always explore.
