Socialism Is A Bad Economy Essay

“Socialism failed because it couldn’t tell the economic truth; capitalism may fail because it couldn’t tell the ecological truth”1 In a perfect world where equality is in our everyday lives and respected without criticism, socialism is the ideal economy. However, we do not live in a perfect world, so the United States has combined reality and fantasy into one and constructed an economy with the influence of both capitalism and socialism. Socialism is a considerably decent economy on the basis that the means of production are socially owned and used to meet human needs and not create profit, however profit serves as a guide to the most highly valued means. A socialist economy is a bad economy because every country who has used this economic system has failed, or is failing, because they are unable, or were unable, to use “pure” socialism. On the analysis of whether or not socialism is a good economy, one must recognize both sides of this debate. Socialism is easily corrupted and deceived to benefit only the government, and cause the public nothing but poverty and misery. This is the flaw of human nature, which is also known as greed and deception. Socialism is generally a bad economic decision because it is flawed and was founded on the standpoint that we live in a world where equality is practiced in our everyday lives. If this were true, socialism may work, but since it is false and we live in a world where greed, lies, and deceit socialism is nearly impossible to achieve successfully. Socialism also results into communism and sets a country up for failure. Socialism may be a radical idea of sharing, however as we learned in grade school, sharing does not always work
