Within the literature two predominate themes have emerged namely job effectiveness which is the degree to which objectives are achieved and the extent to which targeted problem are solved (businessdirctionary.com, 2017). Locke (1979) defined job satisfaction as pleasurable or positive emotional state resulting from the approval of one’s job or job experiences is among social workers and their impact on social worker burnout.
Organizational Burnout

The reasons social workers leave the profession are varied. Effective professional supervision was listed as one factor contributing to job effectiveness along with supportive feedback, or being rewarded for their efforts (Chiller & Crisp, 2012). According to Pines et, al (1982) “good relationship with and support from direct supervisors can influence work satisfaction.” In another study Cushman, et al. (1995) included “lack of funding, personnel shortages, and high worker turnover rate” contributed additional pressure that are also linked to job effectiveness. If supervisors are perceived as failing, particularly in terms of support and consideration, employees are less likely to be satisfied with their work and committed to the organization (Babin & Boles 1996; Glisson & Durick1988).
