Statement of Purpose All my life I have always been the type of person to help people. I have always been a social worker but not legally. I have been doing things social workers do everyday, but I am not certified to take the actions that a licensed social worker can take. I do it all out of the kindness of my heart or just to put a smile on someone’s face. I do it to also make those people who think that no one loves them feel loved. I have always been nice, kind, and giving to others. I was born and raised in Clarksdale Mississippi. Coming from the delta, I have seen many people struggle. This concept was taught in my home and through out my whole life. I use this concept daily so I know I would use it as priority in social work practices. I would use this concept to respect all my clients and the decisions they choose to make. I will not tell my clients what he/she needs to do, but we would work together as partners. I would support and respect what ever decisions he/she decide to make. I would help my clients by making suggestions of what I may think would help their situation. I believe that if I use this concept in practice I would not only be helping and making myself happy, but I would also be doing the same for my clients. I believe that working in this field I will never get bored, because there is always someone who needs a helping hand. There is always someone who may need somewhere to stay. There is always someone who is being abused and neglected. There is always a family who’s living in poverty. I will like to be the one to help these people, get them out of their situation and help them to get better.
