Hi, Professor William! I have been going to Kaplan nonstop since October 2015. Sometimes I do find myself getting unmotivated, but the sacrifices that my husband and children have made for me to finish my degree keeps me going. This has not been easy for me, but I finally have a chance to do something I want to do in life and most of all I want to help children and families. I’m motivated now more than ever because I know this is one of my two final classes here and Kaplan and I graduate in May.

A Social Worker’s Key To Motivation The questions revolving around the motivations behind human behavior have been pondered and theorized by scholars living across boarders, cultures, and even time periods; despite that, many questions still remain. It is probable that almost everyone, if not everyone, can say that they have come in contact with someone, at least once, who seems to have little motivation to do anything more than sit around. Vice versa, it is also probable that everyone can say that they have come across someone who seems to never stop working towards achieving the goals that he/she has set for himself/herself. The differences between the person who seems to lack motivation altogether and the person who seems to have an abundance…

I have chosen to enter the profession of social work because I want to help people who are suffering from mental illness and who are underserviced when it comes to getting help for mental illnesses. By working with a distressed person to become better, not only will I be able to enhance their life, but also the community will transform into a more positive place. I view transformation as a ripple effect, where changing the situation for one person eventually causes a change in the majority. This is especially true when it comes to mental illness and the stigma that surrounds it. I have been highly involved in mental health work on my college campus since my sophomore year.…
